SDC Welcomes New Employees!
Office Manager - Heather Roe Heather Roe has joined the SDC staff as the Office Manager with five years of experience in bookkeeping duties. Heather's background includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, administering company benefits and various other office tasks. Heather is a 2001 graduate of York Technical Institute with an Associate Degree in Accounting.
Survey Technician - John Hersh John Hersh has joined the Survey Department at SDC as a survey technician with over six years of experience in a variety of surveying disciplines. John’s background includes familiarity with boundary, topographic and ALTA / ACSM surveys, as well as construction stakeout. As an instrument operator / crew chief, John has worked on project sites in the York and Hanover areas and in northern Maryland, where he assisted in layout work that was part of an interesting renovation to a nearly 100 year old mill, which was being converted into apartments. He has worked with an assortment of instrumentation and data collection systems, including GPS rovers and both Leica and Topcon robotic total stations. John was drawn to SDC because of the Company emphasis on producing a quality product. John would like to continue his course work in the pursuit of his SIT certification and eventually gain his professional licensure as a PLS.
Environmental Scientist - Joe Fullmer Joe is a graduate from Rollins College with an Artium Baccalaures in Environmental Science and Philosophy. A new addition to SDC in January 2007, Joe heads the Environmental Department and is currently working on acquiring his PWS certification. In addition, Joe is a current member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals, the Environmental Assessment Association, the Ecological Society of America, the Nature Conservancy, the Sierra Club and the Surfrider Foundation. Prior to joining SDC, Joe spent significant time studying coral reef ecology in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean aboard the Oceanstar research vessel. He went on to receive awards through Rollins College for his contributions in creating a working landscape laboratory which included a native plant nursery for The Rollins Environmental Department. The Genius Reserve can now be utilized by current students to apply the theories they learn in the classroom to an actual restoration project. After graduating in 2005, Joe has worked as an Aquatic Biologist in and around central Florida, and as a Project Coordinator for Land Studies, Inc. in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
